Body, Mind and Soul Therapies

A little insight into me and my journey so far.

Hello, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Oliver Cliff and the energy behind Body, Mind and Soul Therapies, is to use the training, knowledge and experiences that I have gathered over my lifetime to help others improve their physical, mental and emotional qualities of life. Based in Clackmannanshire, Central Scotland. I am a fully qualified Shiatsu practitioner and current Professional Member (MrSS) of the Shiatsu Society UK. Along with this I am a Graduate Member (GMBPsS) of the British Psychological Society, a qualified Shamanic practitioner and qualified Reiki practitioner,

When I left school I initially went to college and gained qualifications in engineering. This provided me with very logical and creative ways for problem solving and working towards desired outcomes. It also allowed me to see things from different perspectives. Skills I use daily. I was always drawn towards working with people and I discovered Shiatsu at the age of 18. I then started three years of training at the Aberdeen College of Shiatsu in 2002.

For over two decades I have enjoyed developing my skill set of understanding and techniques, which allows me to offer assistance to my clients on many levels. Promoting all round, health, healing and well-being.

I have combined these therapies and practices because by seeing the entire person as a whole and working on all the aspects that make us into our individual human selves a far deeper healing can occur.

I aim to empower you with a range of techniques, exercises and routines that can provide a tool kit and offer insight for how to work with your own body, mind and soul.

I have a deeply personal understanding for the need of bodywork and the impact injury and trauma can have on the body, mind and soul. By the age of 30, my medical history included being involved in 4 car accidents (as passenger) and 3 motorbike accidents all causing me various physical injuries. A work related prolapsed disc injury, which I had also worked very hard to recover and rehabilitate myself from. Along with these experiences, I witnessed my father being involved in a fatal motorbike accident. Then in the June of 2013 a serious motorbike crash and near death experience compounded these traumas and left me suffering from extreme pain, limited mobility and dealing with complex PTSD. This was to be the end of one chapter and the beginning of a journey back to health.

By 2017 I weighed 18 stone, was living with a long term pain condition, had chronic back issues, flexibility issues and was dependent on prescription medication including Morphine, Amitriptyline and Diazepam to control my pain. I couldn't physically or mentally go on like that so decided to make changes. I started working on myself and improving my health, came off the prescription pain medication and lost 6 stone in weight.

I still continue to improve and increase my health as part of my ongoing journey and now use my experiences combined with the healing therapies I've learned over the years to help others.
