Shiatsu massage is fantastic for aiding recovery and promoting improvements from a wide range of chronic conditions, such as; headaches, fatigue, fibromyalgia, PMS, digestive disorders, stress, anxiety and insomnia. It can help ease suffering from complaints including; back ache, neck pain, joint stiffness, Repetitive Strain Injuries, accidents, injuries and trauma, plus many other issues and conditions.
Shiatsu (pronounced she-at-sue) is a traditional Japanese hands-on non-invasive bodywork therapy coming from the same oriental origins as acupuncture and has been established in the UK for over 40 years. Shiatsu involves applying pressure with thumbs, hands and sometimes elbows, knees and feet.
Simple stretches and light manipulation may be used during a treatment to help get the body back into alignment and restore comfort. During a Shiatsu session I work gently on acupressure points, muscles and joints. Working to bring your mind and body back into balance and alignment.
Sessions take place on a special padded mat on the floor called a futon. However a treatment table can be used if if getting on the floor is an issue. During the session you will remain fully clothed and each treatment is tailored to meet your specific needs.
